Memorial weekend

Mommy and Daddy had planned on taking me camping over Memorial weekend. Little did they know that I was really feeling like a little bit of pampering. So Thursday and Friday I faked like I wasn't feeling so hot. You know, the clammy hands, scratchy cough, runny nose routine...... THEY BOUGHT IT!!! Ha!!! They cancelled the plans to go camping and were planning on just staying home for the weekend, but I knew by Saturday evening they'd be stir crazy. And I was right..... They decided that we needed to take a family trip to Baltimore. Mommy did the hotel research while Daddy packed the bags and we were on our way Sunday morning. The plan was to sightsee on Sunday and Monday with a stay in a hotel on Sunday night where I would be able to take my first swim..........

Arrival in Baltimore

When we arrived in Baltimore I was so excited to get the party started!!! Mom and Dad strapped me in and took me to the inner harbor....
First things first though... I had to try out the park bench. It looked so cozy and it definitely passed the Collin test, I fit on it just right. It comes up a little short on the softness factor (scoring only 3 out of 10), but it was a nice place to rest and look out into the harbor at all the paddle boats. Overall, I rate it at 8.5!!!
Next on the list was discovering my shadow! I was amazed that every time I moved so did my shadow.
Next we took a trip onto the USS Constellation, a retired Civil War Ship... The crew liked me so much they even let me drive!!!! Well, we never left the pier, but we pretended for a moment that we got underway.
Forget the rocking horse, I want a cannon for Christmas!!! This was too cool! And this line was in just the right spot for me to hang on to for stability. How cool was that!

Inside the Constellation

I took a rest in the Captain's Cabin and made good use of the cushiony bench. This one definitely ranks a 10 out of 10 on the Collin test.....
And here's one final picture to show you just how much fun I had on the Constellation.

Oooooh the Pooooool......

It was my first trip to the Pool and neither Mommy or Daddy knew how I would react. They both thought I'd do alright because I love the bath so much and if you didn't hear by now, I'm a pretty easy-going guy....... So here is what happened.
Daddy slowly took me into the water. Thankfully the water was warm because it was an indoor pool.... Yeah, I know I'm sooooo spoiled!
Then, Daddy pushed me out a little further away from him so that I could float a little bit.. (I wasn't so sure about this at first....)
Next, Daddy taught me that I can float. I didn't really like it when he let go of my feet though. It's kinda scary being so little in all that water.
As you can see, we finally ventured out and explored the rest of the pool. It was actually quite refreshing and I think I'll definitely be looking forward to the next time! I loooooove the water.

Naptime Before the Aquarium

There was no doubt that the aquarium was going to be filled with all kinds of cool stuff to see, so I made sure I got my baby rest. The hotel bed was so comfy I felt like I was laying on clouds....

At the Aquarium

There was so much to see at the Aquarium that I can only share a few of our special moments with you......
There was a huuuuge underwater viewing area where Mom and I were checking out the Dolphins before their Dolphin show.
Everyone at this fish tank was talking about "Nemo".... I guess I'll figure out what that means later.
Mom and Dad took me to a Dolphin show! I was happy to be there and even happier that my fingers came with me...... (I try to take them wherever I go to take the edge off those cravings)
There was a Tropical Rainforest where Daddy snapped this beautiful picture of the blue-headed parrot. This place was too cool because all the animals are free to fly and/or roam wherever they feel. There is no containment.
After the Aquarium we stopped by a beautiful waterscape where Mommy dipped her toes. After seeing the look on her face, I'm glad she didn't dip mine. A bit cold, I think.... That pretty much ends our visit....
So if you're ever in the Baltimore area, make sure you schedule a couple of days to take in the sights. Definitely well worth the visit.

My Blue Buddies

Well this morning my two favorite blue friends stopped by for a visit. First it was Mr. & Mrs. Blue Bird, they are building a nest right now so Mrs. Blue Bird has a nice warm place for her new babies, who should be coming along soon. I can't wait to watch them all leave the nest for the first time! Then.......
Mr. Blue Jay came by to get some breakfast. He always stops in early in the morning and then he comes back for dinner right before sunset. I really love my Blue buddies.

Cruisin' with Momma's Hat

I was just crusin' around the kitchen when I found mom's hat so I swiped it up and tossed it on. It doesn't quite fit but I thought I looked pretty cool anyway.

My first trip to the beach

Well, it wasn't palm trees and coral reef, but there was at least water and a pier! (And sunlight) Today we went to the great Potomac River at Colonial Beach, VA. First we walked out onto the pier to find out what everyone was catching for fish. Not too much, apparently. But we did have time to take a load off......
Then, Mommy let me sit on the sandy beach (more like rocky). She helped me pick out this neat seashell, but didn't tell me I wasn't supposed to eat it. Here I am trying to eat it just like I do with everything!
We went for a long walk by the water and then got something to eat for lunch. Our trip to the beach was a blast and I can't wait to go again very soon!

Everyone still says I look more like Daddy. What do you think?

Nothing but love for Grandpa....

Grandpa and I are still unsure about where our relationship stands.... He is making a conscious effort to be my pal but he doesn't understand how sensitive I am. Just look at the picture below.
Need I say more? I really do love you Grandpa, we may just need to spend a little more time getting to know each other before we go to Bruster's for ice cream together (or alone at least)!

Mommy's Special Day!!!

Sunday was a special day for all Mommies.

My Mommy's day started out with a well deserved nap with me on the couch..... Then when we woke up we all got in the car and headed to Gram's... We had flank steak and scrumptious potato salad. When the food was all gone it was time for celebration. So.......
Dad helped me hand this wonderful Mother's Day card to Mom....
She was very surprised that I had time to pick out a card for her to let her know just how special she is to me.... The poem was absolutely perfect and I just have to share it with all of you.....

Oh, How I Love My Mommy!

There's no one like my mommy for bringing happy smiles....
For stopping what she's doing to rock me for a while.
There's no one like my mommy for singing lullabies...
For hurrying to hold me when she hears my little cries.
There's no one like my mommy for taking me on walks...
And for being a good listener in our "mommy-baby talks"!
There's no one like my mommy to hug and snuggle me!
And though I'm small, my love for her is as big as it can be!

And after all that Mommy was a balling mess! But every word of that poem is so true!!! I love my mommy sooooooooooo much!!!

Razzzzzzberries!!!

I've discovered that if I suck in my bottom lip and blow just right I can make a little razzzzzberry sound. It soothes my teething gums with the gentle vibrations.... And it provides Mommy and Daddy with some entertainment as well. Let me know what you think!

Look what I can do!

I have been trying to roll over for a few weeks now and finally figured out how to get my darn arm out of the way. What a pain! Check me out, I'm the man now! This was just my fourth time so bare with me. It's a breeze now that I've got the hang of it.
